Blu Cigs Pro Kit Review

First off, it is important to note that there is a bit of confusion surrounding Blu eCigs, which are from the UK, and Blu Cigs, which are from the US. The confusion arises because they are both owned by Lorillard, and the branding on both of these products is pretty much the same. Plus, they have pretty much the same name. But the truth is that these are actually two completely different brands, so don’t be fooled when you are searching for one or the other online and you come across its counterpart.

Blu Cigs is currently the largest and most popular cig-a-like business in the US, with the largest share of the market. It is personally responsible for bringing e-cigs into the spotlight years ago, and for making them a mainstream item. The company’s product was unique, attractive, and effective, with a delicious e-liquid. So perhaps the UK version of Lorillard is attempting to make people in the UK think that they can get these great e-cigs, but they actually can’t.

First Impressions

The Blu eCigs Pro Kit comes with everything you need to get started smoking e-cigarettes. The hardware is reliable and of decent quality; though, to be honest, we would not really consider it professional grade, what with so many other higher quality options available on the market today.

Put simply, the kit contains a 950mAH battery by Kanger, along with a single clearomiser, also by Kanger, which has a 2.1ohm coil. You also get 10ml of e-liquid in one flavour: “classic tobacco” (our thoughts on the actual taste of this e-liquid is below). And, for those who may not be sure how to use this type of kit, a detailed instruction manual is also included.

Giving It a Test Run

Unfortunately, the same e-liquid that you can expect from Blu Cigs in the US is not the same e-liquid that comes with the Blu eCigs Pro Kit. One of the biggest reasons that Blu Cigs became so popular was their e-liquid, which was delicious and gave off a genuine tobacco flavour with every puff. The e-liquid was PG-free and came from a company called Johnson Creek.

The e-liquid that comes in the UK’s Blu eCigs Pro Kit, though, lacks the flavour and aroma of the original, even though it, like its US counterpart, is called Classic Tobacco. In our opinion, this vape was a bit disappointing, and it would not be our top pick when it comes to e-liquids, especially those that are supposed to mimic the flavour of tobacco. However, every smoker is different, and it will really depend upon the individual. What does not work for us may certainly work for many other e-cig smokers. Besides, you can always purchase a different e-liquid and use it in place of the one that comes with the kit.

In terms of vapour production, we were also surprised that, despite having a Kanger clearomiser and battery set, it was a little disappointing as well. We feel that the vapour production could have been a lot better, but we believe it is because the e-liquid is a cheaper version of what it could be and it is completely PG.

And in terms of the hardware included, from the 950mAh Kanger battery, to the simple Kanger clearomiser that comes with a 2.2-ohm coil, we can’t really complain. They work as expected.

Final Thoughts

Overall, we were disappointed that the Blu eCigs Pro Kit is so different from the high quality and reliable performance of the Blu Cigs product. But if you have never used Blu Cigs, you will not even know the difference.

One of the pros associated with this product is the fact that this e-cig kit is really affordable, and it may be a good starter kit for new e-cigarette smokers. Just be aware that the e-liquid could be much better tasting, so you may want to invest in some other e-liquid flavours that you can use in place of the one that comes with the kit. This will probably make the experience a lot more enjoyable.
